## (1) The Genesis of The Sandbox Metaverse
When it first started in 2012, The Sandbox was conceptualized as an open mobile gaming platform that aimed to challenge the then highly popular Minecraft. In 2018, Arthur Madrid and Sebastien Borget, who are the co-founders of Pixowl Inc, i.e., the developer of The Sandbox decided to use blockchain. The decision to use the Ethereum network (though The Sandbox later migrated to the Polygon network in July 2022) led to the creation of a virtual gaming world. The idea was to use blockchain as a technological enabler that supports a virtual world where players can “build, own, and monetize” in-game assets.

Later, Arthur Madrid and Sebastien Borget incorporated the concept of Metaverse as part of their blockchain-based virtual world. This culminated in the launching of Season 1 of The Sandbox Alpha in November 2021. The Sandbox Alpha Seasons are multi-week testing events that allow players to test out different functions in The Sandbox Metaverse. As of January 2023, The Sandbox Alpha is into its Season 3.

## (2) Venturing into The Sandbox Metaverse

Once you have signed up for an account and connected your wallet, it’s time to customize your avatar. The avatars in The Sandbox come with specific Attributes which define their abilities, such as Power, Defense, Speed, and Magic. In addition to creating a unique look by combining different outfits, hairstyles, and skin colors, you can further customize your avatar by equipping it with wearables and equipment NFTs, which could boost the Attributes of your avatar.

Once your avatar is set to go, there are a plethora of things that you can do in The Sandbox Metaverse. The items in The Sandbox Metaverse’s to-do list can be categorized into those that cater to creators and consumers.

## **(a) For Creators**

#### (i) Game Making

Using The Sandbox’s Game Maker tool, you can build 3D games for free and share them with others though you would need to have purchased or rented some LAND NFTs to publish your game onto. The use of the tool does not require any coding knowledge, thanks to its visual scripting interface. As of January 2023, The Sandbox Game Maker tool is currently in alpha testing phase.

#### (ii) NFT Creating

Using The Sandbox’s VoxEdit tool, you can create ASSET NFTs, which you can sell on the game’s marketplace. The device comprises three components namely modeler, animator, and NFT maker. In essence, the modeler is for creating an NFT, and the animator is for rigging and animating the NFT, whereas the NFT maker is for monetizing the NFT. Do note that the uploading of ASSET NFTs for sale in The Sandbox Marketplace would require the expenditure of $SAND, the game’s utility token. As for the tool itself, it is free to use, but you would first need to register as an artist under the game’s Creator Fund.

### **(b) For Consumers**

#### (i) For the Video Gamers
You can check out Atari’s Sunnyvale if you are into video gaming. The Sandbox domain of the New York-based video game developer features nine of its classic games, including a complete game based on Crystal Castles. Sunnyvale forms part of the Atari X initiative, which aims to build “_a robust blockchain ecosystem that intertwines gaming, community, and utility_.”

At Sunnyvale, you could experience some of Atari’s feature games, such as Asteroids and Roller Coaster Tycoon, in full Metaverse mode. As The Sandbox’s Medium page explains, _“This means that players in The Sandbox can play versions of Roller Coaster Tycoon or Asteroids with a 3D voxel look, creating an experience that is both familiar and new.”_ Additionally, video gamers can look forward to the upcoming Ragnarok LAND in The Sandbox Metaverse, which would host a Game Jam-themed Ragnarok universe and its characters.

#### (ii) For the Party People

If you are in party mode, you can check out the Playboy Party People collection. Launched in conjuction with Playboy’s 69th birthday, the collection features 1,969 NFT avatars with exclusive VIP access to the upcoming Playboy MetaMansion in The Sandbox Metaverse. The MetaMansion is set to feature a content library, life experiences through gaming and social events, Playboy’s talent, and an influencer network. Although all 1,969 Playboy NFT avatars have already been sold out, you still have a chance to enter the MetaMansion by buying one of these avatars from OpenSea.

#### (iii) For the Fashionistas 

If haute culture is your thing, you can check out the Gucci Vault Land. The Vault is a digital concept store populated by rare vintage Gucci pieces. These pieces are digital collectibles that take the form of NFTs. Certain types of NFTs, such as SUPERGUCCI or Gucci Grail NFTs, come with Gucci Vault Aura collectibles that can be worn on their owner’s avatars in The Sandbox Metaverse.

If the rhythm of techno beats gets you up and moving, you can join the electronic musicians' dynamic duo of Richie Hawtin, aka Plastikman, and deadmau5 in The Sandbox Metaverse. Under a partnership brokered by Pixelnyx, another subsidiary of Animoca Brands, the team would host digital concerts in the Metaverse to provide fans with a music-themed augmented reality (AR) experience.

If traveling to Oriental destinations is an item on your bucket list, and Hong Kong is one of these destinations, you are in luck as The Sandbox Metaverse has just the thing for you. In The Sandbox’s Hong Kong Walker: Kowloon Walled City, you would venture into one of the iconic locations in Hong Kong back in the 1970s as _“a debt-ridden gambler whose girlfriend was captured and brought into the sinned gutter. Lui’s creditors infest the City, and he (i.e., you) must navigate through them to get to the love of his (i.e., your) life.”_

If retro is not your kind of thing, you can take a virtual tour of modern-day Hong Kong by visiting The Sandbox Metaverse’s Mega City, which is set to be “_a cultural hub based on or inspired by multiple Hong Kong talents…featuring the city’s actors, movies, music, entertainment, art, professional services, finance, real estate, and major gaming figures. This mosaic of diverse talents and success stories represents Hong Kong’s enduring vitality, technological advancement, and vibrant culture_.”

## (2) Synthetic NFTs and Tokens

### **(a) ASSET NFTs**
ASSET NFTS are tokenized voxels of user-generated content (UGC) created using the VoxEdit tool for use in The Sandbox Metaverse. These NFTs serve as instruments through which players can interact with each other and with the environment in The Sandbox Metaverse as part of the content experience in the Metaverse. Additionally, ASSET NFTs are collectibles that can be monetized and traded on The Sandbox Marketplace using $SAND tokens or secondary marketplaces such as OpenSea and Rarible using $ETH tokens. According to The Sandbox’s GitBook, there are four types of ASSET NFTs, namely:

- Entities that are non-playable characters (NPCs) that bring life to The Sandbox Metaverse.

- Equipment which are items in players’ inventories that can be equipped to facilitate the completion of games’ objectives.

- Wearables which are cosmetic items that change the look of players’ avatars to give them a uniquely distinctive look.

- Art which are visual decorative items that provide the wow factor to games and experiences.

- Blocks which are items that provide an element of realism to the surrounding environment.

The behavior parameters of the relevant NFT determine the possible actions available to players when interacting with ASSET NFTs. These behavior parameters can be configured using The Sandbox’s Game Maker tool.


### (b) $CATALYST Tokens 
$CATALYSTs are tokens that determine the number of empty sockets in your ASSET NFTs. How it works is that by burning of $CATALYST tokens, it would add open sockets to your NFTs, which can then be filled with $GEM tokens for the endowment of attributes as described below. Four different tiers of $CATALYST tokens, i.e., Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary, have different numbers of $GEM sockets and attribute limits (i.e., 25 attributes per $GEM socket) and a maximum number of copies of the ASSET NFT, which determines the scarcity of the NFT.

According to The Sandbox’s GitBook, there are several methods to obtain $CATALYST tokens in the game’s Metaverse one of which is by staking $SAND tokens. As of January 2023, the GitBook reads, “_more information on these methods will be released in the future_.”

### (c) $GEM Tokens
$GEMs are tokens that define the attributes of ASSET NFTs. How it works is that the burning of $GEM tokens would endow the stats of ASSET NFTs with the relevant attributes. For example, burning a Power $GEM token would boost the Power stats of an ASSET NFT. The five types of $GEM tokens, i.e., Power, Defense, Speed, Magic, and Luck, correspond to the five attributes that an ASSET NFT can be endowed with.

$GEMs can be obtained by staking $SAND tokens or purchased from other players via The Sandbox Marketplace using these tokens.




LAND NFT is a tokenized representation of a parcel of real estate in The Sandbox Metaverse. Owners of LAND NFTs can build games or experiences on their land in the Metaverse and populate them with ASSET NFTs, which visitors can interact with. The value of LAND NFTs is warranted by their scarcity as the total supply of these NFTs is limited to 166,464. units

Besides the element of scarcity, the value of LAND NFTs depends on the location of its underlying land parcel(s) in the map of The Sandbox Metaverse. Land parcels in the Sandbox Metaverse can generally be divided into one of two types i.e. premium or regular lands.

The main difference is that premium lands are surrounded by significant partners and social hubs, thereby generating a high amount of traffic flow surrounding these lands. The high traffic flow surrounding premium lands gives their owners a more substantial potential for monetary income. This higher income is through increased receipts for pay-to-play games or experiences, the higher rental value of their lands, and increased advertising revenue from billboards placed on their lands.

In terms of sizing, a single land parcel is represented by a Land NFT with the size of 1x1. Adjacent parcels of land can be combined into Estates. For example, the combination of three land parcels represented by three Land NFTs would result in a small Estate with nine lots of land with a combined size of 3x3. Other than small Estates, there are medium, large, and x-large estates with an increasing number of land parcels and mixed sizes.

There are two ways to purchase LAND NFTs, namely through primary and secondary sales. For primary sales, you can buy LAND NFTs from The Sandbox LAND authorized sales which are usually announced a few weeks in advance before the actual date of the sales. The latest sale, codenamed The Galleria, held on 1 December 2022, resulted in the sales of 313 LAND NFTs with proceeds amounting to about USD450k worth of $SAND tokens.

## Overview of the Decentraland Metaverse 

Decentraland is a 3D virtual reality platform where users can create avatars and purchase as well as own virtual plots of land (called LAND), wearables, and other digital assets. At the heart of Decentraland is its metaverse which is an immersive virtual environment that uses virtual reality (VR) to allow users to experience life in a digitized world. 

The interactive nature of the Decentraland Metaverse allows you to explore land and structures owned by other users, join communities to create entire villages, estates, and cities, exchange assets through the Decentraland Marketplace, instant message other users, or just hang around and chill out by yourself.

## Governance and Asset Management Frameworks of the Decentraland Metaverse

Since the Decentraland Metaverse is decentralized, it is not owned by any single entity but rather managed by a network of peers on the Ethereum blockchain. When it comes to the governance of the game's Metaverse, Decentraland Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) is a decision-making system that enables network peers i.e. $MANA token holders as well as LAND and NAME NFT holders to propose, discuss and vote on changes to the platform.

Every asset you purchase in Decentraland is an NFT, meaning it is unique, stored on the Ethereum blockchain and owned by you. It cannot be deleted or brought down which can happen to online virtual worlds that reside on servers owned and managed by companies that develop the game.

## Getting Started in the Decentraland Metaverse
Decentraland can be played using a downloaded application client or accessed directly via a browser. You will need a digital wallet that supports Ethereum tokens such as $MANA which is the in-game currency of Decentraland as discussed further in the Tokens section below. Being equipped with such a digital wallet is a pre-requisite to experiencing what Decentraland has to offer since all transactions are undertaken through the Ethereum blockchain using the game's token and NFTs.

### Customizing Your Avatar
Once you are good to go, you would need to create an avatar which is a virtual representation of yourself and your in-game character. You can completely personalize your avatar using NFTS for features such as body types and hairstyles. Besides personal features, you have the option of further customizing your avatar using NFT wearables such as clothes, shoes and other wearables which can be acquired from the Decentraland Marketplace.

Once your avatar is ready to go, you will appear at the Genesis Plaza which is located at the heart of Decentraland. This is where your virtual journey will begin. From here, you can begin exploring the Decentraland Metaverse by participating in the plethora of happening events or just roam the open world in freestyle mode.

## Things to Do in the Decentraland Metaverse

There are a host of things for users to do in the Decentraland Metaverse including holding personal events as well as engaging in cultural and social activities. 

### Embracing the Haute Culture
Users can get in on the latest high fashion trends by participating in events such as the Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) which was held in March 2022 in the Decentraland Metaverse. The MVFW's fashion-themed agenda featured runway shows, after-parties, immersive experiences, shopping, panel talks, and much more. With the Luxury Fashion District as its venue, the MVFW which involved the participation of big name labels such as Tommy Hilfiger, Forever 21, Philipp Plein and Estée Lauder was a milestone breakthrough in the digitization of fashion.

### Grooving to the Beat
Users can participate in challenges, virtual social games, and events such as parties and music festivals that happen across the Decentraland Metaverse. For instance, the Metaverse Music Festival (MVMF) 2022 which took place in Decentraland in November 2022 was a four days music fest featuring over 200 artists from around the world including Ozzy Ozbourne, Soulja Boy, and Dillon Francis. The event was a huge success, generating sales of more than three thousand wearable NFTs.

Besides music, Decentraland also offers virtual sports events with a prime example being its partnership with Tennis Australia to be the virtual host for the Australian Open 2022. As the first official grand slam tennis event in the Metaverse, Decentraland's Australian Open 2022 which was held at the virtual recreation of Melbourne Park provided exclusive content such as live action coverage and radio broadcasts as well as behind-the-scenes footage from over 300 cameras around the Park.

### Ringing the Wedding Bells
Users can also tie the knot in the Decentraland Metaverse. In early 2022, a Phoenix couple held the first meta-marriage ceremony in the Decentraland Metaverse. The fully virtual ceremony was attended by more than 2,000 digital guests. This event illustrates the potential of building a fulfilling and life-long reality in the Metaverse that is completely virtual and runs parallel to the real world, giving you a unique blend of reality and virtuality.

For users with little or no digital design background, the Tool offers a simple drag and drop editor which requires no coding knowledge, As for users with technical prowess, the Tool features advanced software development kits (SDKs) which can be used for the coding of advanced games, applications, animations and much more.

In December 2022, the Decentraland Foundation launched the beta release of Worlds with the aim of lowering the barriers to entry for creators in the Decentraland Metaverse. The Decentraland Worlds platform serve as a place for users creators in the Decentraland Metaverse to experiment with the building of digital experiences and hosting of virtual events as well as inviting other users to these try out these experiences or attend these events.

Holders of NAME NFTs are entitled to claim their share of space in the Decentraland Worlds platform. Introduced in February 2022, NAME NFTs are unique and tradable human-readable names of not more than 15 characters for Decentraland users which allow the trading of tokens between memorable addresses. Similar to other assets in Decentraland, NAME NFTs operate using the Ethereum blockchain.

From personal gatherings and social activities to music festivals and and sports events, Decentraland offers a completely immersive experience. The Decentraland Metaverse is a place where users can spend time living a virtual life that delivers almost everything the real world has to offer. All in all, Decentraland is a one-of-a-kind hybrid reality universe where people can lead an extraordinarily normal life in a virtual environment.






LAND NFTs are representations of LAND parcels in the Decentraland Metaverse. Each LAND NFT comes with its unique co-ordinates which denote a particular LAND parcel at a specific location on the map of the Decentraland Metaverse.

It is not a must to have a LAND NFT to play Decentraland but ownership of or possessory rights over LAND in the Decentraland Metaverse is required if you are in to invest or build in the Metaverse. There are a total of 90,601 LAND parcels in the Decentraland of which 43,689 are private land parcels, 33,886 are district LAND, 9,438 are roads and 3,588 are plazas.

The buying, selling or renting of LAND NFTs can be done through the Decentraland Marketplace or secondary platforms such as OpenSea. Adjacent parcels of LAND in the Decentraland Metaverse can be combined to form an ESTATE. Just like in real life, LAND NFTS in the Decentraland Metaverse can be acquired by way of rental or through a mortgage. 

For rentals, a LAND NFT owner would first list the LAND parcel on the Decentraland Marketplace. In the listing, the owner would stipulate the relevant details such as the rental price per day in $MANA and the maximum tenure of the rental. The prospective tenant would need to select the specific tenure of the rental before paying the rent amount using $MANA tokens. Thereafter, the tenant would gain access to the LAND parcel including the attached privileges such as the use of the Builder Tool. 

As for the mortgage process, it requires an applicant to provide information such as the amount requested, interest rates and the duration of the mortgage applied for. Upon the acceptance of the mortgage application by the lender and the making of a 10% down payment by the borrower using $MANA tokens. Subsequently, the ownership of the LAND will be transferred to the borrower though it would be locked by a smart contract pending the settlement of the mortgage.

### Acquiring Real Estate
If you are looking to move in to Decentraland, you can buy a LAND NFT using $MANA tokens. The price of LAND NFTs depends on their size and location. Its up to you to decide what you do with or build on your LAND which you can develop into estates, cities and micro metaverses. While Decentraland has a variety of in-game elements, virtual real estate is what the game is most notable for. 

In fact major corporations, have made in ways into the Metaverse by purchasing virtual real estate in Decentraland to establish their business presence in the digital sphere. One of them is Samsung who had in January 2022 established its 837X store in Decentraland.

Besides Samsung, another big name which has made the leap of faith into the Metaverse is J.P. Morgan who had in February 2022 established its Onyx Lounge in Decentraland with plans to provide banking services through the Lounge in the future.

Many celebrities have also shown interest in purchasing LAND in Decentraland. A notable example is Singaporean singer JJ Lin who had in November 2022 announced on Twitter that he has bought three plots of LAND in Decentraland for USD123,000.

## How to play Axie Infinity Origins

The core gameplay of Axie Infinity: Origins revolves around 3 phases, building Axie Teams, winning on Arena to get SLP and Moon Shards, and Spending Tokens on crafting Runes and Charms and breeding Axies.


### Game Modes in Axie Infinity: Origins

Axie Infinity is a universe filled with a creature called Axies which is an axolotl-inspired digital pet and the primary NFT of the game. To start playing, you'll need 3 Axies to start battling to climb to the top of the leaderboards and claim rewards at the end of every season. Unlike in Classic Gameplay, in Axie Infinity Origins, they introduce Non-NFT Starter Axies, namely Buba, Olek, and Puffy. This reduces the original capital entry barrier, thereby opening the door for more people to play the game. With the new update, anyone can register and begin playing.

Once you enjoy Axie Infinity: Origins and want to take your game to the next level, such as earning SLP, you only need three Axies composed of Front, Mid, and Back Axies, and here are the 6 examples of team builds to get you started.


1. Rage Build, which can deal with high-damage attacks. 

Each Axie body part corresponds to a card you can use during Battle Arena. Front Axies have cards that summon and heal allies to protect the damage dealers. Meanwhile, Mid and Back Axies are damage dealers with rage-stacking abilities that can deal with high-damage attacks.

2. Sustain Build, which provides a lot of passive healing as they deal out damage.

Front Axie cards have cards in which they can heal allies, remove curses, and apply Sleep. However, both Mid Axie and Back Axie are damage dealers, yet both have double anemone, which provides a lot of passive healing when dealing damage.

3. Damage Ramp Build, a damage dealer. 

In which the Front Axie provides sustaining cards like Strawberry and Pumpkin. Meanwhile, Mid Axie cards allow you to select cards from your discard pile, gain DMG for the rest of the battle, deal bonus DMG and cleanse allies, and Back Axie cards can deal multiple hits, gain bonus hits, deal bonus DMG, apply Taunt, steal Shield, and heal allies.

4. Poison or Bleed Build, which has poison-inducing abilities.

Front Axie provides support with healing, cleansing, granting leaves to regen 3 HP, deal damage with Yam's poison-inducing ability. Mid Axie provides a mix of damage and debuffs, such as poison and spikes. Meanwhile, Back Axie provides damage and debuffs.

5. Curse Build has cards such as Cute Bunny, Caterpillars, Gravel Ant, and Jinx that can apply fear or other debuffs to your opponent, which can disrupt your opponents deck enough to out-damage them in mid or late-game.

6. Backdoor Build which gives you control over which enemy Axie to kill first. Thus, giving you a significant advantage over your opponent during late-game. 

Kotaro, Toothless Bite, Shrimp, and Ear Breathing provide you the opportunity to target the Back Axie of your opponent. While Front Axie cards are Papi, Curved Spine, Kotaro, Strawberry Shortcake, Perch, and Snake Jar. Some of this has sustaining abilities to buy more time.

Battles in Origins revolve around two main types of Game Modes, namely Adventure Mode (PvE) and Arena Mode (PvP)

_**Adventure Mode (PvE)**_

In Adventure Mode, players will battle with enemies to explore the game's main storyline. It has multiple chapters that contain 7 Big Stages and 12 Small Stages. You can play Big Stages multiple times, but you cannot play the small stages again. Each of the Big Stages can reward you with up to 3 stars, and stars can be acquired by completing the Challengers. These stars can be used to unlock Milestone Rewards and get rewards from The Foraging Box that contains EXP, Moon Shards, and with many more items to be added in the future.

As you progress in Adventure Mode, more features will be unlocked, including more Starter Axies that come with a new story and earning a huge amount of Moon Shards.

_**Arena Mode (PvP)**_

To unlock the Arena Mode, you must have completed the first six parts of the Adventure mode, and your  Player card must at least be at Level 3. Once you have unlocked the Arena Mode, you may now play with the other trainers in real-time through different types of game modes, Practice, Ranked, and Tournament.

Practice - A casual game without rewards 
Ranked - Wherein winning a game will grant you a place in the leaderboards and rewards such as Moon Shards, Smooth Love Potion (SLP), and Axie Infinity Shards (AXS).
Tournament - Tournaments are hosted by the team or outside of the team, such as gaming guilds, esports communities, and many more.

**Stamina**


To gain rewards in Arena Mode, you will need Stamina, which resets daily at 00:00 UTC. Each battle played will consume you 1 Stamina point. Once you have depleted your daily Stamina points, you will no longer be able to gain SLPs or Moon Shards until the next reset. 

Stamina is determined by the number of Starter Axies and the Personal Axies you have. The formula is as follows, 
Total Stamina = 0.5 x Number of Starter Axies + 3 x Number of Personal Axies. 

To have a minimum stamina of 60, you must have at least 20 Personal Axies. 



### Gameplay Mechanics of Axie Infinity: Origins

Origins is a real-time tactical card battler combat and uses Runes and Charm to enhance Axie's abilities.

- Every battle starts with both players deciding on their turn preference.  
- If both players pick the same turn preference, they will play the Rock-Paper-Scissors (RPS). Whoever wins in RPS will get their chosen turn preference. If both players draw three times, it will result in a random assignment for both players.
- Each player will battle by taking turns in using cards. In Adventure Mode, there is no Turn time limit. However, for Arena Mode, you will have 45 seconds to complete your Turn. After 45 seconds, your Turn will end automatically. 


- Once you are taken to the Battle Arena, you will be given a Deck of 18 Cards. These cards will determine what abilities you can use in any given Turn. You can use it to damage, shield, or heal one or more of your teammates.

- Every card has a corresponding energy for you to use it. Using energy to play cards will give you Energy Fragments, but any unused card and energy during a turn will not accumulate in the next turn, not unlike in classic gameplay wherein you can stack up your energies to trigger an Energy Burst against your opponent in the next round. 

- To win the battle, you must defeat all the Axies of your opponent.



**Energy Burst and Energy Fragments**

To trigger an Energy Burst, you must collect Energy Fragments by using Energy, keeping a card except for the cards given on round 1, and from the effects of Cards, Runes, and Charms. Each Energy Burst will increase your energy per turn by one permanently, and every two Energy Bursts will increase your card draw per turn by one permanently. Thus, giving you more Energy and Cards to use.


Energy Burst System will provide you with more options. It enables you to concentrate and strengthen your midrange or late-game strategies. For example, you may consume all, destroy, or steal Energy Fragments. 



**Blood Moon**

To make sure that all battles will end on time, there will be a Blood Moon round wherein if the battle is still ongoing and in turn 17, all Axies will have their Maximum HP permanently reduced each time the turn ends. 




**Keep**

You may also keep cards at the cost of energy should you wish to use them. By doing so, you can have your card until the next turn and potentially draw more cards to your opponent.



**What are Moon Shards?**

Moon Shard is the primary material to be used in crafting. You can obtain Moon Shard by acquiring Adventure Foraging Box, Milestone Rewards, and Winning battles in the Arena Mode. 

Take note, you would only be able to obtain Moon Shard if you have Stamina. The amount of Moon Shards you can get depends on the rank of your Arena Matchers and the rank and level of your Ronin Spirit Buff.

**What is Ronin Spirit Buff?**

Ronin Spirit Buff is a reward for any player who has a maximum number of 3 Axies. The higher Ronin Spirit you have, the more SLP and Moon Shards you'll receive.









Axies are the NFTs needed for you to play Axie Infinity: Origins. These are the virtual pets that you can use to battle, breed, or collect.

As you start playing, you will be given three starter Axies, namely, Buba, Olek, and Puffy. These are the Non-NFT Starter Axies that players can use to test the game first. Since these are Non-NFTs, you can't breed and trade them. However, you can use a starter and personal Axies for Adventure and Arena Mode.

Unlike the Starter Axies, Personal Axies are the NFTs purchased through the Axie Marketplace which you can breed and trade. 

**Breeding Axies**

Each Axie has 6 body parts namely, the Ears, Eyes, Mouth, Back, Tail, and Horn that correspond to 3 genes for each part. A dominant (D), recessive (R1), and a minor recessive gene (R2). and two cards from different classes, namely: Plant, Reptile, Bug, Bird, Beast, Aqua, Dusk, Dawn, and Mech.

To create new Axies, you need to undergo the breeding process. Breeding an Axie will cost you AXS and SLP depending on how often the Axies have been produced.

By breeding Axies, you will be creating Axies with different combinations. Thus, creating your unique team. 

However, Breeding Axies is risky, and there are breeding limitations you should follow.
- Axies can breed a maximum of 7 times. 
- Sibling Axies and parents/offspring Axies cannot breed. 
- Breeding costs vary depending on how many times the parent Axies have been bred.

To make it easier, there are a variety of tools that can help you to breed your own Axies.

1. Breeding Cost Table - shows the total costs of Breeding Axies
2. Breeding Calculator - allows you to calculate the total costs and estimated ROI, accounting for SLP and AXS and expected Parent/Offspring sales.
3. Breeding Simulator - allows you to check the possible genetic makeup of the offspring.  

**Rare Axies**
	Rare Axies are NFTs with unique genetic composition with a limited supply. 
1. Origin Axies 
- Origin Axies were sold from February to April 2018. Owning an Origin Axie is a marker of being an Axie OG. 
- 3, 400 supply
2. Mystic Axies
- Origin Axies with at least 1 Mystic Part is called Mystic Axies. Mystic Parts have unique aesthetics compared to their normal variants.
- 1,200 supply
3. Holiday Axies
- Originated from special breeding events held in 2018 and 2019.
- 3,000 supply
4. Japanese Axies
- Axies with special Japanese-themed parts.

5. MEO Axies
- MEO Axies are used to introduce new body parts. 
- 2,500 supply
6. Agamogenesis Axies
- Have 1/1 skin and animated body parts.
- 3 supply



Axies

Runes are items that will add special power to your Axies, while Charm is a power-up accessory to enhance your Axie's abilities.  

You can only equip 1 Rune per Axie of the matching class and 1 Charm per Axie Card. For example, Aqua Runes can be only equipped to Aqua Axies, and the Bird Charms can be only used to enhance Bird attack cards.

These Runes and Charms can be minted, purchased, sold, or gifted to someone.  However, some Sealed Runes and Charms are only bound to the game, which you cannot mint or trade in the Marketplace. These are the items that are crafted without the use of SLP.

Enhance your Axies' abilities by equpping Charms


The higher the rarity level of the charm, the more powerful, but it is more challenging to obtain. It will demand more time in crafting experience and crafting recipes to acquire your desired charm. 

**How to craft Runes and Charms?**

To craft Runes and Charms, you'll need SLP and Moon Shards. Remember, if you craft Runes and Charms solely from Moon Shards only, they will be sealed items that are neutral charms that you can apply to any Axie class and cannot be minted or traded with other players. 


**What are Seasonal and Non-Seasonal Runes and Charms?**

There will be Seasonal and Non-seasonal Runes and Charms. 

In every season, there will be new Seasonal Runes and Nonseasonal runes added to the game, but it's not guaranteed that there will be Non-Seasonal Runes to be added in every season. With every season, the older Seasonal Runes will retire, which means you cannot use them in battle nor be crafted, while Nonseasonal Runes will never retire. But it doesn’t mean that Nonseasonal Runes are as powerful as Seasonal Runes. As a matter of fact, Nonseasonal Runes are actually weaker than Seasonal Runes. 

Seasonal Charms can be active for 1 season and will expire at the beginning of the next season. Once it expires, Charms will lose its powers and cannot be equipped with any cards. As for the Non-Seasonal Charms, they do not come with an expiration date and will never become unusable. These types of Charms are the common charms that are not crafted, but instead, they are acquired as in-game rewards.

You may keep or disenchant both deprecated Runes and Charms at any time to get a little amount of crafting ingredients such as Moon Shards and SLP.


Runes and Charms

Axies are the creatures that live in Lunacia, a land that you can own, rent, and develop using different resources and crafting ingredients that you can find when playing the game.  

Axie Infinity: Raylights will be their first land game, and it is currently accessible to all landowners. They can sow minerals, grow plants, cultivate flowers, and mine resources. Along with playing with your Land, there will be a Chimera, the monster terrorizing Lunacia that will make your resource gathering a difficult task. You should battle with Chimera in a real-time battle, either alone or in groups. Once you have defeated the Chimera, it will drop different resources, items, and blueprints that you can use to upgrade your Land or Axies. 

Landowners might also find AXS tokens by exploring resource nodes to find AXS and other resources. Owners may stake their Lands to earn AXS.
